My first gig in my coming to go to Juilliard was a hatchick at Birdland... after 2 nights, Mo Levy took me ti the eastside  jazz club gave me a gig as hatchick there  as he said I wasn't right for Birdland!!1 BTW the first night walking down the stairs i heard my first sax player.... It was Charile Parker!!! hahah I had never heard that kind of music before
